Scaling Regulated Regional Growth

Context

Rain is a CBB-regulated crypto exchange. Between 2021 and 2022 it was scaling across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Turkey, in a category where advertising rules, banking relationships and public trust all constrain the playbook.

Mandate

Lead growth and performance marketing across six markets, building both organic and paid engines inside strict regulatory guardrails.

Strategy

Make organic the compounding asset: a blog-led content strategy built on topic clusters and programmatic content grew organic traffic more than 100% year over year, largely on informational queries where regulated brands can educate safely. Consolidate equity by migrating rain.bh to rain.com with careful 301 mapping, no meaningful traffic loss. Build paid and unpaid GTM motions end to end (channel setup, creative, tracking, analytics) with GTM/GA measurement for channel-level truth, and support senior leadership with market and regulatory analysis for Saudi Arabia and other markets.

Outcomes

  • Organic traffic up more than 100% year over year
  • rain.bh → rain.com domain migration without meaningful traffic loss
  • Paid and unpaid acquisition systems built end to end across six markets
  • Saudi market and regulatory analysis delivered to senior leadership

Transferable principle

In regulated categories, education-led organic growth is not the slow channel, it is often the only channel that compounds.
